Workforce Training

Apprenticeship Development

Apprenticeship programs can reduce turnover, increase productivity and improve the bottom line. West Michigan Works! can make it easy for you to provide a registered apprenticeship program at your company! We do all the background work to get the occupation approved, collaborate with local community colleges and training providers for the classroom curriculum and register your apprentices with the Department of Labor. As the employer, you still have full control over your company’s program and the on-the-job supervision and mentoring of your apprentices.

The West Michigan Works! Apprenticeship program offers:

  • Direct assistance from US Department of Labor
  • Simplified startup of your apprenticeship program
  • Flexible programs; choose from a broad menu of training options to fit your company needs
  • Assistance with recruitment
  • Funding may be available

Apprenticeships aren’t just for manufacturing or construction!  We also offer assistance with apprenticeships in non-traditional industries such as health care, IT and retail.
